One Workforce Mission: Building Homes, Cities, and Futures

The Professional Institute of Madina exists to turn limited schooling into real, paid skills—especially in construction roles where repetition and discipline create mastery and jobs quickly. We’re not just training individuals; we’re building the workforce foundation needed to address West Africa’s critical housing shortage while creating pathways to dignified, sustainable employment.

What We Will Train

Our curriculum prioritizes roles in the construction ecosystem that offer low barriers to entry, high repetition for skill mastery, and high demand in housing and infrastructure development:
Masonry & Block Work
Foundational skills in laying bricks, blocks, and stone—essential for building construction and high-demand across all infrastructure projects
Carpentry & Formwork
Precision woodworking, formwork creation for concrete, and structural framing—versatile skills applicable to residential and commercial projects
Painting & Finishing
Professional painting techniques, surface preparation, and finishing work that adds value and completion to every construction project
Tiling & Flooring
Specialized installation techniques for various materials, creating beautiful and durable surfaces in homes and commercial spaces
Women-First Commitment

PIM will focus heavily on young adults—especially women—to create stable income pathways and leadership opportunities in skilled trades. We believe women bring discipline, precision, and dedication that makes them exceptional construction professionals, and we're committed to breaking down barriers that have traditionally excluded them from these high-paying careers.

The Annual Impact Target

Professional Institute of Madina operates with clear, measurable objectives. Our mandate is to train approximately 2,000 young adults each year across our network of five vocational schools. This ambitious goal is grounded in community need, workforce demand, and our capacity to deliver quality training that leads to actual employment.

Why PIM Exists

Professional Institute of Madina is named in honor of the late Madina Bah—a life that embodied service, dignity, and the transformative power of opportunity. PIM carries forward that legacy by building a pathway where people don’t need “perfect education” to earn a living. They need a clear training lane, hands-on skill development, and a real opportunity to demonstrate what they can achieve.

Our Founding Principle

We exist to turn limited schooling into real, paid skills—especially in construction roles where repetition and discipline create mastery and jobs fast. Too many talented young adults are held back not by lack of ability, but by lack of access to structured training that meets them where they are and builds from there. PIM removes that barrier.
The Challenge We Address
Across West Africa, millions of young adults face unemployment despite strong work ethic and desire to contribute. Traditional education systems haven’t served them, and informal apprenticeships often lack structure, safety standards, and clear pathways to advancement. Meanwhile, the construction industry desperately needs skilled workers to address housing shortages and infrastructure needs.
Our Solution
PIM creates structured, accelerated training programs that focus on repeatable, in-demand skills. Students learn through hands-on practice, building muscle memory and confidence. They graduate with certifications, safety training, and connections to employers who are actively hiring. It’s a model built on service, discipline, and the belief that work can restore hope.
Built on Service & Discipline

PIM's founder is "Bah" (Son of Africa)—an immigrant, disabled U.S. Marine veteran, real estate broker (25 years), and educator (20 years). This initiative is built on a lifelong commitment to community, housing, and dignity through work. Every element of PIM reflects the values learned through military service: clear objectives, rigorous standards, and unwavering commitment to those we serve.
